• 1dr Stenetta

Filly from 1dr Koryn, by SOS Rurik.

We brought Stenetta in with the second to last group of foals for formal training. The foals follow their dams to the training paddock, and we let them run around there for a while before taking the mares back to the main herd. Stenetta sure inherited Koryn’s and grandmother Gracelyn’s gorgeous movement! Those mares would make beautiful dressage, jumping and driving mares, if I was one who enjoyed showing and competing. Stenetta is sired by beautifully moving, calm and sweet red dun SOS Rurik. Koryn is 149 cm tall (14.2+ hands) and Rurik is 14.0 hands.

    Stenetta’s pedigree is here

Stenetta has very nice movement and is a really sweet and easy to handle brown dun that carries grey and red (Aa Ee DD). She has a temperament that would do well in therapy and trail riding, but movement that would make her a competitive show horse in many disciplines. She’s on the tall side, so I anticipate that she’ll mature close to or above her mother’s height. Her full brother Mathis was 14.0 hands at 1.5 years old, and 14.1 hands at 2.5 years old.

Stenetta is available after her formal halter training, standing tied, trailer loading, and groundwork training is done in early February. She’s a great quality filly that will stay here as a broodmare if not chosen by some other person.

Our foals are born in the pasture and handled by me daily out with the herd. The topography, diversity of forages, and 24/7 grazing environment produces optimal growth, development and conditioning of our foals. They get trained at liberty to pick up feet, love being scratched everywhere, stand for mane trimming and burdock removal, and learn how to behave around humans, dozens of other horses, dogs, sheep and goats before they are halter trained. Then they come in for weaning around 6 months and more formal halter training to prepare them for easy handling in their next home.

A 25% deposit of $2125 with signed contract holds her, with $6375 due at pickup in February. We have a list of hauling companies for taking her anywhere around North America.

More photos and videos of Stenetta, her parents Koryn and Rurik, and her full brother Mathis can be viewed on my Won Der Fjords Facebook profile, by friending me and searching any of those names.
