After a sweaty summer trail ride through the neighbor’s beef pastures. Ragnvald rides, drives and lives peacefully with other stallions, geldings, other species, and pasture breeds our mare herd.
In order to obtain conformation, movement and temperament critiques on my home-bred stallion, by unbiased evaluators, I entered him in an international digital show that was organized and judged by Fjord Evaluators from around the world, Fjord Horse International (FjHI). Ragnvald was awarded the champion of the stallion and gelding class in 2023. This is the certificate and medal that arrived in the mail a few months later.
Ragnvald is a very typie stallion for the Fjord breed, has a beautiful and masculine head, a good balance of parts, bold primitive markings, and outstanding movement. He’s kind, gentle, eager to work and easy to train.
I owned both of his parents, and produced Ragnvald in 2012, out of Odden’s Kari and by Canadian-import, Valea’s Vesle. Much of Ragnvald’s beautiful structure and movement comes from his sire, and his dam contributed the recessive red (Ee) and grey (Aa) color alleles. Ragnvald’s pedigree is here.
